Kingston University

The project

Brief

Rocare was appointed to strip out and refit a first floor office complex at Kingston University. The brief required a safe, thorough removal of existing finishes and services, including asbestos, followed by a full internal refit to create a clean, functional office environment ready for day to day university use. The scope also included the demolition of an existing kitchen building on site.

What we did

We completed a full strip out of the first floor office complex, removing asbestos in a controlled manner along with existing doors and partitions, lighting and intruder alarm systems. Once the area was cleared, we delivered the refit works including new vinyl flooring, wall cladding and suspended ceilings, as well as upgraded air cooling and lighting. We installed new doors, frames and ironmongery and added secondary partitioning to suit the updated layout and requirements. Separately, we carried out the demolition of the existing kitchen building, completing the enabling works to support the wider site plans.

Result

The office complex was transformed into a refreshed, modernised workspace with upgraded finishes, improved comfort and updated building services. The controlled strip out and asbestos removal ensured the space was made safe before refurbishment, and the completed refit delivered a tidy, practical working environment aligned with the university’s needs. The demolition works were also completed, leaving the site ready for the next phase of development.
