Rocare was appointed to refurbish the main kitchen and ancillary areas at the Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe, a 13th century property with a Michelin starred dining offer. The brief was to deliver a complete, high specification upgrade that matched the standards required by the Executive Chef and brigade, while working sensitively within the constraints of a Listed Building. The project was delivered as a turnkey design and build contract, with a tight programme during a planned six week closure.
During the closure period, we stripped the kitchen back to its bare structure to allow a full modernisation of services and finishes. We delivered new mechanical, electrical, drainage and AFD services, ensuring the kitchen infrastructure was fit for a high performing, professional environment.
Alongside the services upgrades, we completed a full replacement of finishes throughout the kitchen and ancillary areas, coordinating the works as a single turnkey programme. All activity was planned and executed with care to respect the building’s Listed status, maintaining quality and control while preparing the space for the hotel’s reopening.
The kitchen was handed back on time, within budget and to programme, ready for service ahead of Valentine’s weekend. The hotel now benefits from a modern, functional and visually impressive kitchen environment that supports the day to day demands of a prestigious, Michelin starred operation, while remaining appropriate to the character of the historic property.
